# Connect a chat app

**Testnet only.** Each app needs the Superstables server URL:

```
https://mcp.staging.superstables.com
```

## What you can do once connected

- **Find services.** Ask the chat what's available. In Grok Bot this works before you sign in. ChatGPT needs you to connect first.
- **See your account.** Sign in and the chat can read your account and its wallets.
- **Ask for a purchase.** The chat shows an approval link and a match code. Nothing is paid until an account member opens the link on superstables.com, selects the matching code, approves the purchase and signs with their wallet. The chat can request a purchase. It can't approve one.
- **Check the outcome.** After an account member approves and signs, ask the chat to check the purchase status. It reads the result and, if available, the receipt from Superstables.

## Claude

On claude.ai:

1. Go to **Customize**, then **Connectors**.
2. Choose **Add**, then **Add custom connector**.
3. Enter a name, such as Superstables, and the server URL above. Continue through the remaining steps, then add the connector.
4. Choose **Connect** when Claude offers it. Claude may instead wait and show a **Connect** card in the chat the first time a tool needs your account.
5. On the Superstables page, sign in and choose **Approve**.

Claude asks **Allow once** before each purchase request, even if you've set that tool to **Always allow**.

## ChatGPT

We ran these steps on a personal ChatGPT Pro account, in Chat mode, without developer mode. We haven't checked other plans.

1. Go to chatgpt.com/plugins.
2. Choose **Add**, then **Add custom MCP server**.
3. Enter a **Name**. **Description** is optional.
4. Under **Connection**, keep **Server URL** and enter the URL above.
5. Leave **Authentication** on **OAuth**.
6. ChatGPT shows the warning "Custom MCP servers introduce risk." Read it. To continue, tick **I understand and want to continue**.
7. Choose **Create as a plugin**.
8. ChatGPT opens a **Connect** dialog for the plugin at once. Choose the **Connect** button, sign in on the Superstables page and choose **Approve**.

ChatGPT doesn't offer the plugin's tools until you've connected, so it can't find services before you sign in. If you choose **Cancel** in the dialog, the plugin stays added but has no tools.

Then ask ChatGPT to find a service, and to request a purchase. ChatGPT labels the request tool **Write**. In our run it didn't ask for confirmation before making the request, and it showed the approval link and match code. The purchase still waits for an account member to approve and sign on superstables.com. After that, ask ChatGPT to check the purchase status.

## Grok Bot

Grok Bot finds services before you sign in. Sign-in starts at your first request that needs your account: Grok Bot shows an **Authorize** card, then a dialog with **Continue**, and sign-in opens in your browser. In testing, the Superstables page named the app Cursor and marked it "This app registered itself; its name is not verified". Check the account and wallet shown, then choose **Approve**.

**Personal bot.** The app has no menu option for a custom server. In the desktop app, ask your bot in chat to add a remote MCP server and give it the URL above. The bot adds it, and it appears as an installed plugin.

The plugin is account-wide. Every bot on your Grok Bot account can use it, not only the one you asked.

## Ending a connection

Where you end a connection depends on the app.

- **ChatGPT.** In testing, choosing **Disconnect** or **Uninstall** made the connection disappear from the list of live Superstables connections within seconds. We haven't confirmed server-side revocation. To end access on Superstables, use the steps below before disconnecting or uninstalling.
- **Claude and Grok Bot.** Disconnecting the connector in Claude, or removing the account or uninstalling the plugin in Grok Bot, doesn't end the connection on Superstables' side. End it on Superstables.

You can end any connection on Superstables, ChatGPT's included:

1. Open [Account](https://staging.superstables.com/account) and sign in.
2. Find **Connected apps**.
3. Next to the app, choose **End access**, then confirm with **End access**.

Each app is listed with what it can do and when it was last used. You can end the connections you approved. An account admin can end any. A connection expires 90 days after approval. Reconnect to keep using your account from chat. See [Owner approvals and account](https://staging.superstables.com/docs/owner.md) for more.

## After a connection ends

Once a connection has ended, the chat can't use your account until you reconnect. In testing, ending access on Superstables made Claude and ChatGPT show a **Reconnect** card on the next account request. Grok Bot showed an **Authorize** card. After reconnecting in ChatGPT, ask again: the interrupted request wasn't resumed. If you disconnected or uninstalled the ChatGPT plugin, reinstall it and connect again.
